Actress, Marvel's Hawkeye
Alaqua Cox is an up-and-coming actress known for her breakout role as "Maya Lopez / Echo," a deaf and Native American hero within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She can be seen alongside Jessica Alba in the feature Flash Before the Bang inspired by the true story of an all-deaf high school track and field team at the troubled Oregon School for the Deaf. Alaqua made her first debut as "Echo" in the Disney+ series Hawkeye starring Jeremey Renner and Hailee Steinfeld. She can most recently be seen starring in her own spin-off series Echo, which focuses on her character for Disney+.
Since the announcement of Alaqua’s casting in the MCU, she has become an inspiration to many and continues to be a strong advocate for the deaf community worldwide. She was born and raised in the Menominee Indian Reservation in Keshena, Wisconsin and is of the Menominee and Mohican nation.
