Executive Producer & Writer, HBO's Game of Thrones
American author, TV writer and executive producer D.B. Weiss is best known for writing sci-fi and fantasy stories. Currently, alongside David Benioff, D.B. created and serves as co-executive producer for the hit HBO series Game of Thrones. A sweeping, medieval fantasy, this epic story interweaves several plotlines during the end of a decade long summer as an impending winter looms. The show has garnered multiple awards including Emmys and Golden Globes and has gained a global cult-like following that continues to grow with each season.
Previously, D.B. wrote Lucky Wander Boy, a fictional fantasy novel about “video game addiction, Hollywood serfdom, ill-fated romance, and an extremely misguided notion about Japan.” Attracting multiple favorable reviews, it attracted Benioff to partner up with D.B. to develop Game of Thrones for HBO together.
Game of Thrones recently wrapped up its fifth season. D.B. continues to write while adding directing duties for the first time on several episodes. He has received nine Emmy nominations, including wins for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series and Outstanding Series. He was most recently named to Vanity Fair's "New Establishment List 2015."
