Emmy and Oscar-Nominated Actress
Diane Lane is one of Hollywood’s most beloved and respected actors.
Lane earned her first Oscar nomination in 2003 for her leading role in Adrian Lyne’s thriller Unfaithful, securing Emmy nominations for the CBS miniseries as the beloved "Lorena" in Lonesome Dove and the HBO TV movie as "Pat Loud" in Cinema Verite in 1989 and 2011, respectively. She’s otherwise best known for films including her film debut opposite Sir Laurence Olivier in A Little Romance, Under the Tuscan Sun, A Walk on the Moon, Chaplin, The Outsiders, Rumble Fish, The Cotton Club; and Must Love Dogs, and on such series as the President’s nemesis in House of Cards, among other projects. Her screenwork has also been recognized with “Best Actress” accolades by the New York Film Critics, the National Society of Film Critics, and three Golden Globe nominations, as well as nominations from the SAG Awards, Critics Choice Awards, and Independent Spirit Awards.
Lane has been an active advocate for the safety and preservation of the oceans and waterways for over a decade. She’s addressed Congress on behalf of the Shark Fin Sales Elimination Act (H.R. 2811/S. 1106) and addressed her opposition to the practices of offshore drilling and seismic airgun blasting with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) and in a Washington Post Op-Ed. She was recognized for her dedication by Oceana as their annual Gala honoree and continues to work with both Oceana and members of Congress on the protection of all living things above and below the oceans.
Lane’s current projects include David E. Kelley Productions' upcoming Netflix limited series, A Man In Full co-starring Jeff Daniels, and Ryan Murphy’s FX anthology series, FEUD: Capote’s Women.
