Biography
Elise Smith has dedicated her career to scaling access and opportunity to drive equitable outcomes for all. Her focus on scale brought her to technology and to IBM Watson where she began building Watson for Education products and doing B2B Sales for the Watson group. She then went to New Schools Venture Fund, a venture philanthropy investing in innovation in learning, where she supported the Diverse Leaders portfolio in finding, funding, and coaching DEI entrepreneurs.
Elise co-founded Praxis Labs with the goal of driving more equity, inclusion, and value for individuals and organizations. Through the use of Virtual Reality, Praxis Labs provides immersive experiences to take on perspectives of others and build empathy.
Elise studied Geography and Social Inequity at Dartmouth College and has an MBA and MA in Education from Stanford University.
