Special Needs Advocate & Wife of 2020 Presidential Candidate, Andrew Yang
Evelyn Yang is a mom, author and advocate. She is married to former 2020 Presidential candidate Andrew Yang and speaks from experience in her public and private life. She’s proud to have supported Andrew in politics because she believes in UBI, building a more human-centered economy, and elevating AAPI representation.
Evelyn was born and raised in Queens, New York. After graduating from Columbia University with a B.A. in Economics, Evelyn worked in marketing and brand management. She met her husband Andrew in NYC and they married in City Hall in 2011. They have two young boys with special needs, leading Evelyn to become their number one advocate.
Evelyn is a board member of KultureCity, a nonprofit that promotes autism acceptance and invisible disability awareness. They partner with cities, states and venues to create a more sensory inclusive community. She also serves on the Public Policy and Advocacy Committee for the Autism Society of America.
Evelyn is also a passionate survivor-advocate. After she publicly shared her experience of assault by her OBGYN in 2020, numerous women reported abuse by the same doctor. She has continued her advocacy through education and legislation, actively supporting bills such as the Child Victims Act and Adult Survivors Act.
Evelyn is the author of A Kids Book About Sexual Abuse, released in April 2021 in honor of National Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Her book is part of the award-winning series A Kids Book About, on Oprah’s list of favorites things. All royalties from her book are donated to RAINN, where Evelyn is on the National Leadership Council.
