Actor Best Known for Suits
Gabriel Macht is most recognized for his iconic turn as “Harvey Specter” in the internationally renowned USA series Suits, in which he starred for nine seasons. Recently picked up by Netflix, Suits has now set a number of records for the streaming service, such as most weeks as the No. 1 overall title, most minutes viewed of any show, and the first show to garner 3 billion minutes viewed for seven straight weeks. It has been number one on Nielson’s streaming numbers for three months in a row and a total of 14 weeks, and broken download records as well.
Suits was nominated for two People’s Choice Awards for Favorite Dramedy 2015 and Fantastic Cable TV Drama 2016. It was also nominated for Favorite Drama Series for the TV GUIDE AWARDS. Gabriel graced the cover of TV GUIDE magazine two separate times for his role as “Harvey Spector.” Not only did he lead the cast in the series, he directed 4 episodes and produced the show as well. 9 years, the far-reaching success of the show created a spin-off, Pearson, among three international remakes including South Korean, Japanese, and Egyptian versions of the legal drama.
On the big screen, Macht starred in the Will Eisner comic-inspired Cult Film from Lionsgate, The Spirit as the titular character opposite Samuel Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Sarah Paulson, and Eva Mendes, directed by Frank Miller. Macht starred opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway who were both nominated for Golden Globes in the highly acclaimed Twentieth Century Fox’s Love & Other Drugs directed by Edward Zwick. He was previously seen in Robert De Niro's critically acclaimed Universal Pictures film, The Good Shepherd with Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, and Joe Pesci for which he won The Silver Berlin Bear Award for Outstanding Artistic Contribution at the Berlin International Film Festival.
Macht's additional screen credits include the Paramount Pictures Comic Drama Middle Men with Giovanni Ribisi, Luke Wilson, Jacinda Barrett (his wife of 18 years), and James Caan, the arctic Warner Bros thriller Whiteout with Kate Beckinsale, the Universal Pictures romantic comedy Because I Said So with Diane Keaton and Mandy Moore; Joel Schumacher's Bad Company produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney opposite Anthony Hopkins and Chris Rock; Touchstone Pictures The Recruit opposite Al Pacino and Colin Farrell and the box office hit 20th Century Fox’s Behind Enemy Lines with Owen Wilson and Gene Hackman. He won rave reviews for his portrayal of 'Frank James' in the Warner Bros. action-comedy American Outlaws opposite Colin Farrell and Kathy Bates. Macht's other film credits include Twentieth Century Fox's The Object of My Affection with Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd and the critically acclaimed independent Paramount Classics film The Adventures Of Sebastian Cole opposite Adrian Grenier and Clark Gregg.
His role in Lionsgate Films A Love Song For Bobby Long also garnered Macht critical acclaim for his performance as the tormented writer, ‘Lawson Pines', starring opposite John Travolta and Scarlett Johansson for which he won a BREAKTHROUGH OF THE YEAR AWARD at the Hollywood Life’s 4th Annual Awards and contributed to Scarlett Johansson’s Golden Globe nomination.
Gabriel had his first success on screen when he was 8 years old and was nominated for a Best Young Motion Picture Actor Award for his performance in the movie Twentieth Century Fox’s Why Would I Lie opposite Treat Williams in the Youth in Motion Picture Awards.
Other television credits include the Made for TV BBC Film, Archangel opposite Daniel Craig, guest starring roles as the ‘Modelizer’ in HBO’s Sex and The City, opposite Sarah Jessica Parker, the ‘Naked Guy’ on NBC’s Spin City opposite Michael J. Fox, and a series regular role as empathic ER Doctor, ‘Mark Gabriel’ in Steven Spielberg's supernatural drama for NBC, The Others. He also starred opposite Jennifer Love Hewitt in the ABC made-for-TV biopic Audrey Hepburn, playing love interest 'William Holden.' His theater credits include playing ‘Elvis Presley or the Visitor’ in the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play and a smash hit written by Steve Martin, Picasso At The Lapin Agile at the Promenade Theater in NYC and Theater on the Square in San Francisco; Roger Kumble's critically acclaimed and wildly successful Turnaround at the Coast Playhouse in Los Angeles; La Ronde directed by Joanne Woodward at Williamstown Theater Festival; What The Butler Saw directed by Joe Dowling at Arena Stage in Washington DC.
