Hacker, Author, and CEO of Indigometrics
Josh Klein has practiced and was trained, both formally and informally, in hacking - social systems, computer networks, the publishing industry, animal behavior, and television, among others. When he's not taking things apart or putting them back together again, he speaks, writes, and consults on new and emerging technologies that improve people’s lives – and has tremendous fun doing it.
Klein speaks frequently at conferences such as the WEF’s Davos conference, TED, SXSW, and others, and has appeared on the Sundance Channel, Nova, and other programs. He’s hosted a groundbreaking series on the history of innovation for National Geographic, as well as a couple of series on innovation in Asia for Discovery Channel. He spends a significant amount of time consulting for companies large and small, such as Microsoft, AT&T, Nokia, Johns Hopkins, The United States Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and others.
Klein has co-authored Hacking Work: Breaking Stupid Rules for Smart Results, which is focused on how employees are increasingly empowered to innovate inside of companies. He’s also the author of the novel Roo’d, which was the first modern book (after Tarzan) to be ported to the iPhone. Most recently, he authored Reputation Economics, about the unforeseen implications of the rise of big data and social software, and how it is reshaping modern commerce.
Currently, Josh is focused on growing Indigometrics.com, a platform using innovative new data analytics to measure and manage purpose and behavior within organizations - the new P&L of culture. Outside of that he cohosts Accenture's Built for Change podcast, which won Thought Leadership Podcast of the Year from AdWeek.
But what Klein really does is hack systems – taking them apart and putting different pieces together to produce something new and more effective.
