UFC Fighter & Mental Health Advocate
Khalil Rountree is a UFC fighter in the Light Heavyweight division boasting a record of 11-5-0 with 7 TKOs. Though he has experienced incredible success in the octagon, he has had to battle many hardships in his life to be in the position he is now.
When Khalil was just two, his father was tragically shot and killed in a robbery attempt. Without a male figure in his life, Khalil grew up being rebellious and a self-proclaimed outsider. He developed a knack for creativity and gravitated toward heavy metal culture, music, art, and skating. He had major struggles with his weight and, consequentially, his confidence. His brother introduced him to combat training as a way to get on a path to health, but Khalil went beyond that goal. Losing 100lbs. and becoming an incredibly skilled MMA fighter, he made his debut in the UFC and has become one of the best Light Heavyweights in the promotion.
In addition to his fighting, Khalil has utilized his creative side and become a trendsetter in the realm of fashion, tech, and mental health. He has created his own streetwear brand, SUCH, that has been worn by the likes of many. He has taken a deep dive into the world of cryptocurrency and has been at the forefront of financial technology and innovation, even being invited to speak on a panel at the 2022 Bitcoin Conference. More recently, Khalil has been a spokesperson and advocate for mental health, openly discussing his previous struggles and personal experiences. He encourages people, especially men, to be open to talking about the challenges they have faced and to seek out opportunities to help themselves and others.
