Biography

This year Laci Mosley can be seen starring in the highly anticipated Paramount+ reboot of “iCarly.” Nine years after the series finale of the sitcom about teens who went viral for their eponymous web show, “iCarly" is back, all grown up, and better than ever. Laci shines as Harper, the aspiring-fashion designer best friend of Carly (Miranda Cosgrove); together they navigate the uncertainty of millennial life in their 20s. “iCarly” debuted on June 17, 2021 on Paramount+.

In addition to “iCarly,” in 2021 Laci joined the cast of HBO’s award-winning sketch comedy series “A Black Lady Sketch Show” created by Robin Thede and produced by Issa Rae. The series became the first Black, women-led sketch show to receive a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series, while Seasons One and Two hold a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. “A Black Lady Sketch Show” premiered its second season on April 23 and was recently renewed for a third. Laci got her first big break in the entertainment industry in 2019 with a starring role on Pop’s original series “Florida Girls.” Additional television credits include “Single Parents” on ABC, “Better Call Saul” on AMC, and “Insecure” on HBO.

While bringing characters to life in film and television keeps Laci busy, she also helms the successful podcast Scam Goddess (Earwolf), which is dedicated to fraud and all those who practice it. Launched in 2019 (and picked up by Conan O’Brien’s production company Team Coco in 2020), it was instantly loved by critics, with Vulture saying “Mosley is whip-fast with jokes, upstaging and amusing even her funniest guests with zingers.” Rooted in Laci’s love of comedy and intertwined with true crime (without the murders), Scam Goddess keeps listeners up to date on current rackets, digs deep into the latest scams, and breaks down historic hoodwinks alongside some of your favorite comedians. Guests have included Jameela Jamil, Nicole Byer, Lauren Lapkus, and JB Smoove, to name a few.

Born in Terrell, Texas and raised in the suburbs of Frisco, Laci knew she wanted to be in the entertainment industry at just five years old. Growing up in Texas, she was a cheerleader, ran track, and served as student council and student body president, all while nourishing her love for performing by juggling acting classes and theater workshops. She attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated with Performance and Marketing degrees, then spent several years studying improvisational theater at UCB- Maude (sketch) and ASSSCAT. She made the move to Los Angeles several years ago and has been working ever since.

On the charity front, Laci is a member of UCB's initiative Project Rethink (started in 2020), which works to address systemic racism within the organization. She is an avid supporter of Black Lives Matter and has actively protested and raised funds for various organizations. When she isn't on set you can find Laci rollerskating (a hobby she picked up during quarantine) and hiking at Griffith Park and Runyon Canyon in the LA area.
