Biography

Meet Mathew Knowles, the global leader in sales & marketing, brand development, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

With over $5 billion generated across multiple industries, more than $100 million in exits and acquisitions, and the development, recording, and distribution of some of culture's most notable careers such as Beyoncé, Destiny's Child, Earth, Wind & Fire, Solange, and many more, Knowles stands as a pillar for corporate, entrepreneurial, and black success.

His inspiring and self-made story started with humble beginnings.

Growing up on a dirt road in Alabama during the heart of segregation, he attended all-white schools and was often the target of extreme racism and bullying from his classmates and even his educators and other authority figures.

However, he was always guided forward by his entrepreneurial spirit, instilled in him by his parents, which fueled his dreams for massive achievement and impact.

He found early success in his career at Xerox Medical Systems, where he quickly rose the ranks globally to become their number one salesperson worldwide for multiple years in a row. Always an innovator and a catalyst for change, Knowles led initiatives within Xerox that would allow for the entire organization to be named by Forbes as the number one workplace for minority professionals—decades before such topics became a focus in Corporate America.

He found additional corporate sales and marketing success as a top sales and marketing representative for Philips Medical Systems and Johnson & Johnson.

He simultaneously started a business with his former wife, Ms. Tina Knowles; “Headliners,” which ultimately made them highly notable and successful in the Houston beauty industry.

The name “Headliners” would serve almost as a prophetic symbol for the next phase of Knowles’ journey, which included taking a risk that would change the course of history; leaving his successful corporate career to enter the music industry with a yet undiscovered Destiny’s Child.

Once again, his passion, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit were his guides toward success.

Recently quoted as “one of the greatest music managers and branding architects of all time,” Knowles navigated the uncertain and risky waters of the music industry to develop some of the most iconic acts in history along with one of the most successful independent music labels ever with over 450 million records sold.

His storied resume in the business world also includes leading some of the most successful marketing campaigns of all time, working with organizations like Pepsi, L'Oréal, Samsung, and House of Deréon Apparel to name a few. The latter of which, Knowles served as Chief Marketing Officer and directly contributed to its $75 million acquisition in 2011.

His legacy and impact in the music industry continues to this day with his daughter, Beyoncé, recently being named the most-awarded artist in Grammy history.

Today, Mathew Knowles is widely regarded as the best in the world at what he does and is a sought-after speaker, consultant, and educator for some of the world's largest organizations and conferences in the areas of sales, marketing, leadership, mindset, entrepreneurship, DEI, mental health, wellness, cancer awareness and early detection, and much more. His talks, conversations, and speeches with organizations and stages like TEDx have been viewed millions of times online.

Additionally, he holds professorships at various institutions, including the prestigious London College of Contemporary Music.

His work in the entertainment industry continues with the newly rebranded Music World Music Film & Television, LLC which is currently developing several highly anticipated projects for the big and small screen.

Knowles' professional insights and expert digital content have been recognized by organizations like LinkedIn, where he's been named a "LinkedIn Top Voice," a distinction reserved for the world's foremost authorities in their fields such as Bill Gates, Arianna Huffington, and Barack Obama.

His expertise has also made him a highly notable advisor and board member for dozens of organizations across a wide array of industries.

As a male breast cancer survivor, he is also a vocal advocate for early detection.

Whether he is developing some of the biggest brands in history, inspiring global audiences, or helping businesses and entrepreneurs achieve their goals, Mathew Knowles' unmatched talent and experience make him a true business and industry icon.
